OSMO offers a natural and environmentally friendly alternative to wood finishing. This is our recommended option for a safe, natural, and eco-friendly stain finish. Amplifies the wood's natural graining for intensely character-rich slats.

The use of 100% premium North American hardwood and quarter-sawn slats creates grain patterns that are unique and elegant.

From the Poplar tree, Poplar wood is more rigid compared to Basswood. Because of the hardness, Poplar holds its shape slightly better than Basswood. Poplar can sometimes come with a streaky greenish grain that does not lend itself to staining as well as Basswood. For this reason, we tend to recommend using Poplar for painted slats and Bass for the stained slats.

Basswood comes from the alder tree, has a beautiful light-colored, finely tight grain. The characteristic of the grain works well for staining to create an appearance of other types of woods such as oak, pecan, cherry, mahogany, etc. Basswood is also lightweight and easy to mill, making it a preferred choice from a manufacturing standpoint.

Our decorative valance, standard on all blinds (except Coastal), has a distinctive style that will complement any decor.

You can also opt for the sleek, contemporary design of our Crescent valance. It’s a great choice for more modern room settings.
